 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ… Behold, I send my messenger before your face… the voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord (Mk 1:1-3)
Так в душе человека Христову благовестию предшествует внушение ангела: "Приготовь путь Богу". Это – зов совести. Он зовет и в бесплодной жизни. И лишь в открытой душе, когда сбиты преграды страстей, когда уравнены пропасти падений, лишь в подготовленной душе может звучать и будет слышен голос евангельского слова.


А за голосом Евангелия, когда он услышан, идет Христос. Иначе – закрыты у человека глаза, и закрыты уши, и ожесточено сердце, и ничего он не слышит.		 Thus, in a person's soul, the preaching of Christ is preceded by the inspiration of an angel: "Prepare the way for God.” This is the call of conscience. It calls even in a barren life. And only in an open soul, when the barriers of passions are knocked down, when the abysses of falls are equalized, only in a prepared soul can the voice of the Gospel word be heard and understood.


And after the voice of the Gospel, when it is heard, Christ comes. Otherwise, a person's eyes are closed, and their ears are closed, and their heart is hardened, and they hear nothing.
